We wondered around downtown Toronto a bit. It was too cold to do any more that we did. We did walk down to the shore of Lake Ontario. It was totally frozen where we were! Brrr! Madison wanted to go ice skating, but fortunately, we talked her out of that one! We also went to CN Tower, the tallest building in the world! We went up to the observation deck. That was pretty neat. There was a portion of it that has glass floors. It was a little scary and creepy walking out on that, being that high up in the air! There is a picture of Madison laying on it! It took her some time to warm up to that idea! The view was awesome fromt he top! It was overcast and snowy, but we still thought it was neat! And yes, we did see a Royal Canadian Mountie!

Niagara Falls

These are sone of the best shots from our trip to Niagara Falls. It was sooooooo cold, but we still ventured out and had fun. The first picture is from Skylon Tower. They told us not to go outside, but we did. It was around 30 below with the wind chill. It took our breat away! I have never felt cold like that. The next picture was from underneath the falls. The back side, as you can see, was completely frozen. It was really neat to see that. The town of Niagara was really neat. It was a cute little place with lots to do and see. The overhead picture of the falls was from our hotel room. You could hear the roar from the falls from the room. We are going back over the summer to see all of this without freezing!

Halloween at Disney World

Well, not long after the day at the pumpkin patch, the girls and I headed to Disney World to spend Halloween at Micky's Not So Scary Halloween Party! We had so much fun. All of the vilians were out and the other characters were dressed in costumes. There was a neat parade and the vilians put on a pretty cool show! The girls even got to trick-or-treat and they passed out quality candies!

The Pumpkin Patch

Here we are making our yearly trip to the pumpkin patch. Kaily was not in the best of moods but ended up selecting her"Baby". Madison, of course, wanted the biggest one she could find!

Superhero Chapel

Being in charge of chapel for Kinderarten just happened to fall on Hero Day during Spirit Week at school. Madison, of course, was dressed as a Power Ranger with huge muscles. She was standing next to her friend, Lelani who was dressed as Cinderella. They were quite a pair! Lelani started rubbing Madison's muscles and madison was trying to get her to stop. It was really funny! It went on most of the time they were up there! Some of us that were standing in the back were quite tickled at the whole spectacle! Hopefully, that is the last time they are dressed up while leading chapel!

Flogging Molly

Last night, TJ and I went to see my favorite, Flogging Molly! The show was awesome! My ears are still ringing this afternoon. Oh well, the price you pay for having some fun!
We had a blast people watching too! Let me tell you, there were some characters there! Towards the end of the show, I was very thankful for my seat in the balcony! Check out the crazies in the pit! The picture does not do the craziness justice!

Swim Party

Anyway, we had a blast yesterday at the last swim party before school starts back! The pool at one point was overlaoded with kids! Kaily played in Molly's "Princess" room and had a blast. She found a pair of huge, orange hight heels that she had a hard time parting with. Check Robin's blog for that picture!

There is no better way to cool down in the horrible Texas heat! Madison and Kaily enjoyed the sprinklers the other evening on one of the terribly hot days we had last week.

Go Rangers

The girls posed for pictures before we went to the ranger game last night. We decided to leave Kaily at home since she goes to bed so early and did not do so well (due to tiredness) at the last game we took her to. We had great seats, right on third base and just a couple of rows back. We had to call it an early night though, due to Madison not quite being over this horrible stomach bug. Poor baby!

First Hair Cut

Kaily got her first real haircut today. She no longer has a mullet!!!!! She was good for Malissa, just a little wiggly at times. She had fun exploring Malissa's beauty shop while Madison got her hair cut. The rollers were Kaily's favorite part!

New Addition

Sadly, Little Dude's life came to an end yesterday. We had a small funeral under a pecan tree and Madison helped with the burial.

She was then ready to go to the pet store and get a new pet. She brought home Sam the fish. She picked out all of his home decor and I hope enjoying him!

She is finally off to see Batman!

Madison finally gets to go see Batman today with TJ. She has been sick and today was the first day she felt like going out! She always like to dress the part, if she had the proper dressups! I saw Batman yesterday and it was pretty cool! I am sure Madison will think the same thing!

No Kids Allowed

No kids were allowed on our "Girls Day Out"! We had a lot of fun on what may have been our last time to get together (with no kids) before school starts. Hopefully, we can squeeze in one more of these days!

Fireworks

Kaily did not really enjoy the fireworks show that TJ and Madison put on! She liked the smokers and whatever else didn't make noise. She spent some of the time hiding in the garage and behind the truck!

Madsion, on the other hand, was right in the big middle of the show! She had fun pretending she was Harry Potter casting spells, mainly on little sister! :) I think she turned Kaily into a frog a couple of times!She even got brave enough to help TJ light some of the big ones! Towards the end, both girls decided to sit and watch TJ finish up the evening!

White Sands

The girls, well, mainly Madison had a blast at White Sands. Kaily was a little unsure about how the sand felt between her toes. She preferred her shoes being on! Madison made sand angels, rolled down the dunes and had a great time!

Future Olympians?

Madison found all of my old ski stuff and had to get it all out and try it on. She is ready to learn how to ski. Kaily was equally fascinated by the bright colors - I think! Now the question is, will the girls become Jr. Olympians and follow in their mother's footsteps?

Snails, worms, and more snails!

One of the things Madison loves to do in Ruidoso is go snail hunting. Sure enough, because of the rain, there were plenty out for the taking. She ended up with 6 snails, some were giants and others were babies. She had a blast with them! There was one that got loose in the house with the worm she caught! Good luck to Mom and Dad finding the snail and worm!

Red Ninja T-Ball Party

Sunday evening was the Red Ninja's trophy/end of the season party! Madison thought the big pool at the park was awesome! After swimming, the kids had hotdogs, cupcakes, and received prizes and trophies from Coach Ali! Madison is so proud of her new trophy! According to her, she is going to start collecting them. The favorite thing of the evening, for parents and kids alike, were the rocket balloons! They were quite entertaining! What a great way to end the season!

It's Rodeo Time!

Poppy and GaGa treated the three oldest grandkids to the rodeo. They had box seats which seemed pretty good! Madison, of course, was in her element! She still wants to be a bull rider when she grows up! We have no idea where that comes from since TJ and I are neither one into the rodeo, cowboy stuff!

And of course, you cannot go to the rodeo and not have cotton candy - Madison's favorite!

Ride 'em Cowgirl

Madion is such a cowgirl at heart, or I guess I should say cowboy, to keep Madison happy! We got Old Spirit out this weekend. I guess he was feeling a little frisky for him, because he was moving pretty good for a 28 year old. Madison named this horse Old Spirit because he resembles Spirit from the movie (her favorite) and well, because he is old. She, of course loves to ride him and loves to lead him around. Kaily was not scared of him, but when we tried to put her in the saddle, she changed her mind!

Sea World

We had a blast at Sea World. Madison and TJ sat in the soak zone and got soaked by some of the pilot whales during the dolphin show. I think they learned their lesson and sat higher up during the next show. Kaily and I managed to sit high and stay dry during all of the shows!

Madison was really looking foward to holding the sea stars again. That was one of the first things on our agenda. Kaily loved them too! Neither of the girls were ready to move on. They are both fascinated with the beautiful stars!

Madison got to feed the sea lions this really disgusting, slimy, dead fish. She had a blast. The sea lions would actually come and fight each other for the fish. Kaily was fascinated by all of the action we were seeing! There was a seagull that swooped down and stole a fish out of Madison's hand too! Naughty bird! I will try to post video of Madison's feeding experience as soon as I figure out how to do that!
We also had to tour Shark Encounter, and of course, TJ had to act like he was going to throw Madison to the sharks. This always gets a few laughs from us! There were some pretty big sharks in the aquarium. You could see their teeth as the swam overhead.
Of course, you can't go to Sea World without seeing the Shamu show. It is always pretty neat to see thhose huge creatures doing tricks! We all stayed dry during this one! It would not be fun to get soaked by this thing!

San Diego

For those of you who know us, you know that San Diego is one of our favorite vacation spots. I guess the girls and I make several trips there a year and it is know as TJ's second home. we feel like locals while we are there. However, we did something new this time. We toured some of the ships in the harbor. We went aboard the HMS Surprise which was the ship they used in "Master and Commander". So, we actually got to steer the same ship as Russel Crow! Madison of course loved feeling like a pirate! She even drew a treasure map below decks!

After we toured the HMS Surprise, we went on a Russian B-39 submarine. It was really cool. It was not really a place for Kaily since there were places to fall to the next level down. We did enjoy seeing the torpedo rooms and the actual torpedos. It was rather difficult climbing through the hatches with Kaily in tow, but we managed.

Disney at its Best

We had a blast doing all of the other stuff at Disney. Kaily enjoyed her naps while Madison, Mom, and Dad enjoyed all of the yummy treats! We got to see an awesome High School Musical parade, hunt for Captain Jack Sparrow's treasure, and ride the raft with him to Pirate's Cove. Capt. Jack decided to rummage through our backpack to see if we had anything worth enough for him to take. Fortunatly for us, he decided all of our loot was unworthy for him. We all enjoyed the water rides. Madison and TJ love Splash Mountain (which scares me too bad), but Madison and I loved the water ride in California Adventure! We all took turns getting soaked, except Kaily who stayed dry the entire trip!

Goofy's Kitchen

One of the nights we were a t Disney Land, we decided to eat at Goofy's Kitchen. It was really cool and the food was awesome! There were abunch of characters there and they would come around to your table and visit for a while, not to mention, Goofy was the head chef! We saw of course Goofy, Minnie, Chip, Princess Jasmine, Brair Fox, Pluto, and a couple of others! That was the highlight of mine and Madison's evening.

Toon Town

We always spend a lot of time in Toon Town when we go to Disney Land. There are several cute rides there, that even I will ride, and most of the Disney characters are in their houses for you to visit. Madison loves the Chip n' Dale roller coster, and believe it or not, it's not too scary for me!

Here are just a few of the characters we saw at Disney. Madison actually filled up two autograph books, minus just a few pages. By spending several days there, you really can see everything. She even got pictures with several of the villans, which she wasn't necessarially happy about!

The Happiest Place on Earth

We have returned home after spending 4 days at the Happiest Place on Earth! We had a great time. Madison and TJ shut Disney down all four nights, but Kaily and I only managed to shut it down two nights. (One can only handle so much of the happiest place on earth...sometimes!) We have (well, TJ and Madison) have managed to ride every single ride in the two parks, except for the ones Madison is too short for, which is only a couple. To some, this is an accomplishment.

We went to the Pre-K end of the year swim party. It was really fun!
The kiddos had a blast swimming. We also played volleyball in
the sand court they had there.
The pool was awesome! There was a waterfall with a place to
jump off into the pool. Quinn was brave enough to jump off, but
Madison and Hatden were another story!

Texas Ranger's Baseball

We went to a Ranger game a few weeks ago. Madison always has to do go to the "batting cage" while we are there. She got a couple of really cool Hank Blalock magnets for hitting some homeruns! She is really taking off with the t-ball! Kaily spent most of this time eating ice cream with TJ. We figured out that Ranger games are not her thing - they last too long and too late!

Putt Putt

We spent Memorial Day morning playing putt putt golf. It was a great family time. Kaily pooped out after the first round, but Madison and TJ kept on and ended up playing three rounds. I got beat in the round I played, which is really sad considering I am the golfer of the bunch, and the short game is or maybe was my best area!

Puppy Love

We all got wet last night at bathtime! Kaily was having a ball splashing us! I have never heard her "belly" laugh like that! Madison decided to get in too, and Kaily tried to wash her hair! We had a mess to clean up after it was all said and done!

Go Speed Racer!

We saw Speed Racer this weekend. It was much better than I expected it to be. Madison loved it! That is about all she has talked about since Sunday! She wants to go see it again. Maybe TJ should take her this time!

A New Member of the Family

We have a new member of the Rowdy Moudy's! We saved him from going to the pound since his previous owner was moving and could not take him. Trip has been a great addition, so far. He is such a gentleman and is already trained. Madison has had a great time with him, and he is very sweet and gentle with Kaily!

The kiddos celebrated Western Day at school. Quinn and Madison decided to pose for the camera before school. They did western stuff all day to go along with the letter W and they even went on a wagon train trail ride around the school campus.

Bluebonets - Fun or Misery?

We went to the Shaw-Kemp Ranch again this year to see the bluebonnets. Last year, there were literally millions, but as you can see, they were very scarce this year. I think one of the girls might have been having a good time, but not both!

Madison got to make a pint a corn husk doll, just like the real pioneers and Indians!

Maybe Kaily is not so unhappy after all!

This was Kaily's first "mobile" Easter. She spent most of the time worrying about the grass poking her and mad that she couldn't get the eggs to work. She did attempt to eat some candy with the wrapper still on.

Madison of couse had a blast on the hunt. She goes full speed! We are now overloaded with candy at home!
